Adolescent Program

Adolescence is a difficult time for many kids. As they're trying to figure out who they are and establish their independence, they need all the help we can give them. Unfortunately, the last people they want to turn to are grownups.

EquusEmbrace has found a way to give teens the help they need--through the heart and soul of a horse.

Horses have a way of putting teens at ease and opening them up to possibilities they may not have considered. We can then help them develop the life tools they'll need, such as appropriate assertiveness, setting boundaries and self confidence. This way, teens cans rely less on their peers to define their values, approaching independence in a healthy and self-directed way.

There are two types of teen sessions, co-ed and girls only, which may be more appropriate for the younger girls (12-15). Sessions are held after school and during the summer and they are designed for 4-8 teens.

Financial aid in the form of a sliding scales is available.
